Thanksgiving Day Reflection on Rosa Parks

on Tue, 2019-11-26 19:26

How can we express our gratitiude for all the women who came before us, who showed us the way? Here is one way – be open to learning history you were never taught – as we did during our visit here two weeks ago.

Rosa Parks is known for not giving up her seat in Montgomery in 1955. Our Principle Quest group learned that her legacy at the Rosa Parks Museum reaches far beyond the bus, thanks to Felicia A. Bell, Ph. D. shown here in the center.

Virtual Enterprise International: Experiential Education At Its Best

on Wed, 2017-01-25 14:54

Supporting a group like Virtual Enterprise Int'l (VEI) is easy because once you volunteer to judge a live business competition (think Shark Tank!), you feel inspired. You will be convinced that VEI classes, actually held during the school day, teach more than almost any class you can think of from your own high school days! Now in 400+ schools and reaching 12,000 students around the world, VEI is also a fascinating volunteer opportunity for a business professional who would like to be a judge or coach a virtual business team.

Virtual Enterprises International: Experiential Education At Its Best!

on Mon, 2016-02-22 16:44

What students learn when they participate in Virtual Enterprises International (VEI) is extraordinary and well beyond the usual 'jug to mug' economics classroom fare. Principle Quest Foundation gave a modest donation to this entity whose reach is now 500 secondary and post-secondary schools nationwide, serving over 12,000 students annually. Founded in 1996, VEI is an amazing addition to a school's curriculum. I have been honored to be a judge twice in competitions where we witness just how talented students can be when and if given a chance in the 'real' world!
